About
Aooo (read auu) is a Japanese rock band formed in Tokyo in August 2023. It brings together lead vocalist and guitarist Riko Ishino, formerly of Akai Ko-en and Idol Renaissance, guitarist Surii and drummer Tsumiki, both established Vocaloid producers, and bassist Hikaru Yamamoto, a support player for YOASOBI and Momoiro Clover Z. The band name comes from the members‘ blood types, one A and three O.
All four write and compose, giving the band a wide stylistic range across rock and pop. After selling a four-track demo album, Demooo, at shows in 2024, they made their major-label debut with Echoes and Sony Music in October 2024 with the self-titled album Aooo.
