Bray me

Bray me is a Japanese all-female rock band from Fujinomiya in Shizuoka Prefecture, now based in Tokyo. The lineup is Kotani on vocals and guitar, Ito Anri on guitar and chorus, SAKKO on bass and chorus, and Arisa on drums and chorus. The band is built around Kotani’s sturdy, nostalgic voice and a straightforward, melodic rock sound.

The founding members were classmates in junior high in Fujinomiya, where they started a band called BRAVE JACKASS in 2007. After a member change the group briefly became a three-piece named meme in 2011, then took the name Bray me in 2012, combining their earlier band names. They moved to Tokyo in 2018, and the current lineup settled in 2019 when Ito Anri and SAKKO joined. That October they made their national debut on Jun Gray Records, the imprint run by Ken Yokoyama’s bassist Jun Gray under PIZZA OF DEATH, with the mini album Grace Note.

In 2022 the band set up their own label and team, NottDagr. They released their first full album, DUH, in January 2024, followed by extensive touring and overseas shows in Korea, Taiwan and France. Their songs have been used widely as Japanese television theme tunes. Their second full album, JUST, arrived in January 2026 through KURAMAE RECORDS.
